What We Need (pp73-79)

  1. Where does the possibility of repentance start, for each brother (pp73-74)?
  2. Why is it that “our repentance must go deeper than just regret for individual sins” (p75)?
    • for the younger brother?
    • for the elder brother?
    • Do you have difficulty repenting of more than just your sins?

Who We Need (pp79-89)

  1. Who should have gone in search of the younger brother (pp79-82)?
    • Who would ultimately need to pay the cost of his reconciliation (pp82-84)?
    • Do you do this for others?
  2. How is our situation better than the younger brother’s (pp84-85)?
    • How can we repent of our motivations (pp85-86)?
  3. How does selfless love join duty and pleasure/choice (pp86-89)?
    • Do you ever feel a conflict between your duty and your pleasure or choice?
      • If so, how has Jesus helped you with that?
